Simply made from plantains and egg whites, the 3Ingredient Paleo Pita Bread is low-fat, high in protein, and has a cake like texture that’shard to beat. Easy to make, delicious to eat!

Do you have certain recipes in your head that are so easy, sofamiliar that you don’t even need to write them down anymore? Staples that you makeweekly or monthly that seem so simple that they’re not even worth sharing?

In the past, I’ve called these ‘common sense‘ recipes. But what I’ve learned is that not everyone is as comfortable in thekitchen as I am. I grew up in a home where helping my mom in the kitchen was encouraged.

She taught me cooking techniques, how to follow recipes, and inspired me to startexperimenting on my own. Not everyone was so lucky to have that luxury as a child, however. So I have to admit I’ve taken my love of cooking and familiarity with making food from scratch for granted.

So simple recipes aren’t silly! In fact, they’re great for beginners!

Let’s be honest, most people don’t have a lot of time to prepare elaborate, intensive recipesanyways. The simpler, the less ingredients, the easier to throw together….THE BETTER.

Bonus points if the recipe is healthy!

Well, the recipe I have to share today checks all of those boxesand more!

They’re also grain-free(so obviously gluten-free, as well!), high in protein, and have the most delicious, cake-liketexture from using a special ingredient….PLANTAINS. AKA: The Paleo Wonderfood!

A few times a month I do a big ‘freezer food-prep’ in which I make a ton of baked goods, breads (including these pitas), protein options, and other random stuff to restock my freezer stash. I love having meal/snack components already madeup and on hand for when I am super busy and don’t really have time to cook. Doing it all atone time a few times a month makes healthy eating a no brainer!

These pita breads pretty much suit everyone’s needs! They’regreat for most peopleno matter what dietyou follow and they’re so versatile.

Some of myfavorite ways to use theminclude…

  • spreading with peanut butter and blueberry jam
  • topping with goat’s milk cream cheese and jelly
  • dipping in black bean humus and salsa
  • stuffing with raw tempeh and pesto (strange butgood!)
  • toasting and eating with a sprinkle of cinnamon(they are THAT good on their own!)

I’d love to hear what you all come up with when you try theseout!
