Sour Cream Pork Chop Recipe

I found this baked pork chop recipe in Caterin’ to Charleston Cook Book. Underneath the recipe, it noted “Men love these.”Well that certainly caught my attention; that and the fact that the entire recipe was only a handful of ingredients.

After eating these, I completely understand why they are such a hit.The sauce, which is sour cream-based, has a nice little tang to it that goes great with the baked pork chops. Sour cream is a naturally acidic ingredient which helps to break down the protein in the pork chops and make it more tender.

I recommend serving it along side a rice dish like French Onion Rice Casserole or Rice Pilaf to soak up the sauce.

Baked Pork Chops are the Best

I love pork. It’s actually my favorite type of protein. This most likely stems from growing up the daughter of a pig farmer.Bacon, pork chops, pork burgers, pork sausage, pulled pork—I love it all.

What I do not like is a dry pork chop. YUCK! There’s nothing worse than biting into a dry piece of meat. Have no fear, this recipe creates the opposite. Browning and slowly baking in a covered dish results in a fork-tender pork chop.

Any time I see a new baked pork chop recipe, I mark it or save it for later. That’s how I found my favorites which include Fancy Baked Pork Chops and Cranberry Baked Pork Chops.
