Three types of Saurians were introduced with the release of Genshin Impact 5.0, all of which can be interacted with and even controlled, seeing that the Natlan region permits players to embody these creatures through a process known as Saurian Indwelling. Saurians are native creatures to the land of Pyro and, while they dwell in that Nation, they are not all necessarily aligned with the Pyro element itself, much like the Natlan characters in Genshin Impact have different Elemental Types. Saurians are dragon-like creatures that live harmoniously among the various human tribes and factions within the region.
Each of these Saurian types is somewhat aligned to one of the game’s seven elements, though their main focus is not necessarily on providing elemental prowess in combat but enhanced mobility depending on their environment. With Saurian Indwelling, players can burrow underground and climb vertical walls, use a grappling hook to reach new heights, or even swim at enhanced speed across rivers and lakes. New Saurian types in Genshin Impact should be added with upcoming patches, as well as the tribes that revere them, expanding the gameplay possibilities, especially when it comes to mobility across the Natlan region.

Tepetlisaurus - Geo Saurian In Genshin Impact 5.0
Tepetlisauri Live With The Children Of Echoes Tribe In Natlan
The first Saurian type that players are likely to encounter as they venture into Natlan is known as Tepetlisaurus. This Geo-aligned Saurian is a massive creature with a bulky body and large scales protruding from its back. Tepetlisauri also boast a hardened horn, which allows them to burrow underground. When using Saurian Indwelling on a Tepetlisaurus, players can use their new Saurian body to dig underground and move beneath the earth with increased movement speed. While in this state, players can also use the Tepetlisaurus to climb up vertical walls in Genshin Impact. This, however, consumes Phlogiston.
Tepetlisauri are revered by the Children of Echoes tribe, located toward the eastern portion of Natlan.
While moving underground with the Tepetlisaurus, players can also jump, which makes the creature leap out of the ground and then reenter wherever they land, be that ground or a wall. When using the attack action while underground, the Tepetlisaurus causes powerful tremors and can detect hidden underground objects. By using this attack, they can also free the objects, essentially digging up treasures that can be collected across Natlan. Tepetlisauri are great for reaching high locations and moving around quickly with the possibility of finding secrets in Genshin Impact.

Yumkasaurus - Dendro Saurian In Genshin Impact 5.0
This Saurian Has Enhanced Mobility & Is Perfect For Exploration
Likely the second type of Saurians that players will see right after leaving the Children of Echoes tribe is known as Yumkasaurus. This dinosaur-like creature has a green body, long legs, and a fluffy tail. When players use Saurian Indwelling with Yumkasauri, they unlock their exclusive abilities. Yumkasauri are capable of using their tongues as grappling hooks, which can be positioned to reach greater heights or lunge forward. In fact, this ability can be used twice in a row. With the Yumkasaurus form, players can also double-jump, combining the ability with the leaps to cover more ground in Genshin Impact.
Yumkasauri live with the Scions of the Canopy tribe in Natlan.
While using their grapple tongue in the air, Yumkasauri can hover as they select the next grappling location. In addition to their powerful leaps and lunges, Yumkasauri can also run up walls, further increasing their mobility abilities. Another powerful skill used by Yumkasauri is using their tongues to grab Flamegranates. These fruits can then be hurled forward and, upon impact, they explode. As such, this can be used as a combat tactic, especially as an opening move against groups of unaware enemies in Natlan. For now, Yumkausari are the most mobile Saurians in Genshin Impact, especially in wider areas.

Koholasaurus - Hydro Saurian In Genshin Impact 5.0
These Creatures Can Move Quickly Through Liquid Surfaces In Natlan
Koholasauri are possibly the final Saurian type that players will encounter in Version 5.0, thanks to how far away they are located from the starting zone in Natlan. Briefly described, these Hydro-aligned creatures are like sharks with legs. As is expected from their body type and location, Koholasauri can quickly swim through both water and liquid phlogiston, making them a valuable means of transport across these surfaces when using Saurian Indwelling. These creatures can swim at enhanced movement speed and can lunge out of the water in Genshin Impact.
The Koholasauri live harmoniously with the People of the Springs tribe in Natlan.
Furthermore, Koholasaurus creatures can fly through Spiritways, pre-established paths of Phlogiston. They can also use Jet-Set Eddies to leap upward. Outside of liquid surfaces and these mechanics, Koholasauri are not too mobile, but they are the best for exploring areas like the Toyac Springs. There is much to look out for in Natlan’s future, including new Saurian types and the release of Xilonen in Genshin Impact 5.1, for example.
